Privacy Policy — Tachyon SOS

Effective [EFFECTIVE DATE] · Tachyon SOS Android app (com.tachyon.sos)

Tachyon SOS is operated by Tachyon360, Poornima South Main Street, MLRA-07, Mana Ln, Chembukkav, Thrissur, Kerala 680020, India.

Read this before you send a report.

Tachyon SOS is not an official emergency service and does not dispatch rescue teams. Always contact your local emergency number first.

Your report — location, phone number and any text you type — is visible to other people using this app on its rescue map. That is how volunteers find and reach you. Share only what you are comfortable making visible to strangers.

What we collect

There are no accounts and no sign-up. When you send a report we collect:

The app also stores a random code generated on your device to group repeat reports. It is not your IMEI, phone number or advertising ID, and is not linked to your identity. Our server records your IP address with each request to prevent abuse.

If you allow notifications, we store a notification token and your approximate area, rounded to about 1 km, so we can alert you when someone nearby needs rescue. This is optional.

We do not collect your contacts, photos, files, camera, microphone or advertising identifiers. The app contains no ads and no analytics or tracking, and does not track you across other apps or websites.

Who can see it

Any user of this app. The rescue map is open so volunteers can respond without needing an account, and shows reports within about 5 km of a chosen area, including names, phone numbers, coordinates and text.

We never sell or rent your data, or share it for advertising. Otherwise we disclose it only to emergency services, authorities or relief agencies in order to get help for you, to the providers below, or where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Reports stop appearing on the rescue map 5 days after submission, and are deleted from our database after [RETENTION PERIOD] — sooner if you ask. Notification tokens are removed once they become invalid.

Security

All communication with our servers uses HTTPS encryption and database access is restricted to authorised personnel. Please remember that information on the rescue map is visible to other users by design, and that no system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your rights

You may ask us what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or withdraw your consent. Notifications can be refused or switched off in Android settings at any time.

To delete a report, email smanitha@takyonline.com with the subject “Delete my SOS report”. Because there are no accounts, please include the phone number you submitted and the approximate date, so we can find the right records. We will action it within [NUMBER] days.

We process this data with your consent and to protect life and safety. Indian users have rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Grievance Officer: smanitha, smanitha@takyonline.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.

Children

The app is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, though in a genuine emergency anyone may use it to ask for help. Contact us and we will remove a child's data.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy we will update the date above and give notice in the app for significant changes. Questions: smanitha@takyonline.com.
